I just received the Trail Finder and I am having problems mounting a Tamiya Toyota Hilux body on to the chassis. I have modified the front body post to no luck, modified the body to no luck as well. The body also remains at an angle from front to back. Did I get a bad egg or is the frustration with this problem normal? Any info will be greatly appreciated so I dont loose it, cause right now Im not happy with my purchase. Truck chassis seems a little low as well. PLEASE HELP......ANYONE..... SOMEBODY!!!!!

There are some guys on here that can help you. The body mounts don't line up exactly. You need to move things around some. They will surely see this and post there pics. If you search a little in the trail finder section here you can probably find them.

Slowdown.. Stop.. And THINK! Its not hard to figure out how to make it work by making a mount or bracket... I modified mine with a servo mount and it works perfect..

have any old kits lying around? Most in the hobby do, just replace the stock posts with some that are a little longer, you can move them front to back ( in the rear ) for adjustment, if you have no parts lying around check out your local hobby shop, touring car body post is what I ended up using off a HPI pro2 I think, the front mount also has a hole front to back so you can mount a post there (many screw in thru the side) just be patient and look around a little. proline even make body post kits as many other do you could try that route.
THis truck kit REALLY ROCKS man, havent had this fun in rc myself for years just give it a chance.
try to find some threaded tube, not bar,it wants to be about 10mm wide to be strong, the tread wants to be the same size as the machine screws in the kit, that way you can cut your own body posts and screw in place using lock tight, then you can screw your body on(with some posh screws) without lock tight, dont worry about the side, just use the holes in the rear bed you might need to make the holes a bit bigger, then get a pace of thick plastic cut to fit in the bath shaped hole, use some araldite to stick it down, then you can drill holes in the thick plastic to look neat, the front use the hole in the front of the truck on the bonet,i think the servo bracket has slots in,you will need to take the servo off and its a bit of a pain in the a**,but its worth it,i use a brass ball joint that has a thread on to hold the front on then you can hook your winch hook round it and it looks like its ment to be there,
hope this helps

Just make the rear holes in the body slightly wider to fit over the fat round part of the rear posts too.

Hi,
I had the same problem.
Solved it by using old R/C parts I still had.
I used a metal plate from 60x30x1 mm. I screwed this plate on the chassis. Painted it black and used velcrontape on this plate and the Tamiya-body.
By this way, there isn't anything sticking out of the body. Looks more realistic.....
For the rear I adjusted the height also with older R/C parts.
Take a look at the picture.
Good luck.
