View Full Version : Problem with my New Timberwolf

just bought a Timberwolf Kit in my LHS yesterday, have the time to start building today. after removing the front covers of the axles to inspect and re-grease it, i noticed that some of the screws have some plastic parts came off with the threads. i immediately suspect that those screw holes might be stripped... and bam, when i put the screws back on, 4 screw holes on the rear axle and 3 in front were stripped. can't get the screws to tighten anymore so i just put some thread locks on the stripped screw holes so that the screws will hold a bit.

now, i need a set of axle cases but the problem is that the LHS here don't stock enough RC4WD parts. you have to tell them what do you need and they will order it for you but it take too long as they only order parts every 2-3weeks.

i don't know if RC4WD will provide a replacement axle cases or do i need to pay for it. note that the screws came out with those plastics on the threads when i took them off so i suspect they were overtighten during assembly in the factory. i should have kept this to myself if i am the one who overtighten the screws causing the holes to be stripped but not.

sometimes it is just frustrating when you spend a lot of money to get a nice truck like this... (well we pay more for it here in canada than what it cost in USA).

if there is any RC4WD representative surfing this forum, please advise me on how i could possibly get a new axle cases. i just want to get good condition parts for my twolf. i am also looking to buy the axle c stiffeners.

thanks...

just curious if the gap between the tube cage and the side skid is normal? i am looking on some pics of weld twolfs in the forum but it seems most of them don't have this gap. mine has about 5mm gap. any idea on how to fix this? if i will bend the skid more, it will end up short and can't reach the tube cage anymore.
