axle internals

Hello,

I was looking at the 'axle internals' picture in the store http://tracgear.com/product/rc4wd/axle/blackwell/g1/axleinternals.jpg and I was wondering if the axle is one solid piece or 2 independant ones? I mean, if one wheel is blocked, will the other still spin?
