I have a few questions as the sub uses the T Rex plastic axels but weighs in at 9.54 Lbs then yet to have a battery, motor and radio gear added how well do the axels stand up to the punishment .
Many of the crawlers run these axels do they last and are any of the other crawlers as heavy all up?
Im no speed freak but i would be running a 55 to 80 turn motor in it ,would the axels be ok or would they have to be dumped straight away.
Also there is an upgrade option if i ordered a Sub with the billet axels front and rear would i get a discount as i wouldnt have a need for the plastic ones ?

The price difference is adjusted for the change out of the axles.
My Timberwolf is actually pretty heavy. I usr Rex axles under it and it does good with the Steel locker in the rear.
55-80 turn will be pretty slow in the truck.

Very sorry. I misunderstood what the optional upgrades meant on the Subzero. These are additional items you can purchase with yout kit. The axles can't be changed out.
Very sorry for the misunderstanding on my part.
The Plastic axles should be fine under the kit. If you want to purchase just the aluminum axle cases. You can send an e-mail and they will gladly help you.

Did you read the video description? The front diff fell apart already. That really sucks because I have the money in my account and I'm ready to order, but....
Those axles are not really a new item, so I'm surprised to hear that there is a problem, but it also scares me. I may have to take a step back and wait a while - $600.00 is a lot to put into a weak truck. If you had been really beating on it that would have been one thing, but I would expect it to be fairly bullet-proof considering the light crawling I saw in those videos. :(

i'm pretty sure it broke due to a faulty diff not stress related, its only a $15 part anyway. i still have faith in this rig, it is geared realy nicely.

Hi mate yeah i would be right on it but it was quite badly damaged in the post it had a side panel punched in and where i think the box must have been dropped from a height or thrown all the chassis shock mounts were bent its not something i cant get round but it will need some work i have to replace a panel i cant use the bent one and the mounting nut has come off so ill have to solder it i thought it was a production fault but its not on closer inspection . Soon as i get it looking good ill fire some pics to you all i have my lipo's here my new reciever rooster combo and different tyres so all is cool !!!!!

Ive just started to have a go at some of the bent bits on my sub so i started with the grill to make it look a little more familiar ill find a pair of lights later and i fitted a new panel not going to do much more just tidy it up and align the geometry.http://www.rc4wdforum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1367&stc=1&d=1261440708http://www.rc4wdforum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1368&stc=1&d=1261440708http://www.rc4wdforum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1369&stc=1&d=1261440708

hi speeder, what kind of geometry problems are you having? i to have some minor problems with mine. i noticed the front frame rails where the shock connect is not centred, causing the whole truck to drive lobsided. it would be simple to fix, i'm just not sure what to use to reattach it. i don't want to use my welder it will vaporize the truck in an instant. i was thinking of salder, but don't know if that would be strong enough. any segestions? nice grill to, looks like a hummer grill.

Hi 4c if you cant get it tigged get it silver soldered it will be well strong enough , my geometry probs are as if someone stood on it, all four upper shock mounts were bent in i replaced the front grill because it was welded in twisted so i dumped it .
There is only one other thing which may alter its straight track and that is the right radius arms mount is offset .If it dose when i finish it ill tear it off and make a new one i think thats the best thing.
All in all its quite cool.

Just a couple of pics i gave it a bit of a test run and a trim all is okish but it has the turning circle of Saturn and if a rig ever needed a center diff this is it! Anyway here is a few pics of it not even close to finished had a four hour blast through the web last night looking for some headlights didnt find a thing i dont really want them to light but if i cant find anything else i might just get them or end up making something...

I have these on my Ax10 crawler and they look pretty scale on a 1:10 body. It would mean drilling out the front end of your chassis to mount them, but for $20.00 they might be worth a look:

The buckets are chrome, but you can paint them before installing the light bulbs.

Ive had my sub running about the front room just for setting up its only had a couple of five or so minute runs i havent had to charge the lipos yet . I thought id have a little check of things and found this, bearing in mind that it hasn't been used outside yet or in anything tough how long is it going to last? i havent even finished it yet! perhaps these should have been sent out with a number of spares..

Wow, that's not good. It looks as though the output shaft is certainly a weak point on the Subzero. I don't get it. The whole chassis is steel, but that part of the differential is aluminum? What the?
No offense to you, but I'm glad I held off on buying this thing. That looks like an obvious design flaw.

I agree but i have a plan i have a Bully which runs really well ! When i bought it i also bought a spare front axel for four wheel steering. So i have just bought a new front so what i will do is put the sub on bully axels that way ill have something which will work really well and i'll sell off all trex , disrupter ,punisher running gear if i knew then what i know i would have just bought the body..............:(

Awesome. Is there any such thing as an upgraded pinion available, so the problem does not recur? Hardened steel for example.
Would you recommend soldering all the mounts before attaching the radius arms etc?
I just ordered the SUBZERO and really appreciate all/any of the information given.

Hi Fella i didnt reply as ive been away , yes i would reinforce the shock mounts before you do your build mine gave way straight away i havent repaired mine as i have been out of time but i will get to it . The magazine race car is doing a sub zero build at the moment and they say they will give tips on how to counter act torque steer and any other little problems so try and get that as it comes out again soon..
