    GP/Mad Gear Cliff/Axial project

I posted pics of the start of this project in the "Future of RC monster trucks thread" on RMT. After I did that I got the urge to work on it. It's a GP chassis with an Axial trans on my own skidplate...

Small update to this project. I've had it sitting basically waiting for me to do the body(mostly waiting on the graphics to be done, which they now are) so I finally did a mod I've been wanting to do...

I've been working on this truck little by little but I haven't been updating or taking many pictures. The main reason for that is when I run into problems I just work through them and forget to take...

Since the stock lockouts work then the Cs should work too. But the problem isn't the housing, it's the axle shafts themselves. You need custom length steerable shafts for the front axles.

Planetaries sounds nice but in the end you end up with a very complex and very expensive set of axles that only hardcore enthusiasts will buy. You maybe be able to find an off the shelf diff and axle...

That's the problem, choosing a "proven base". Axial/WK diff gears are weak if you're running brushless power and Clod tires. Now you can buy the hardened ring and pinions but you're still left with...

For the lowers, maybe lt axle stays or maybe a block of delrin. For the uppers, if the spacing is the same as a tlt, maybe the old tlt axle truss style.
