    Toyota Truck for Trucking

    I'm making a truck.

It has these parts in it.

Helical gears, CVD's, 3 link front and 4 link rear because I'm fancy.

    Simple and proven drivetrain.

I plan on comping with it this August. I still need some bits. It's a super-mild build, so don't expect ground-breaking, earth-shattering, holy-crap moments which you can apply to your own projects. That is, unless you've never heard of bobbing. Then prepare for your mind to be exploded.

    Roberta'ed.

I did a terrible job of making a straight cut, and I cut it in the wrong place. So I've got some fixing to do. NICE GOING, IDIOT! Also trimmed the front fenders.

So today I tried experimenting with brazing. I'm pretty sucky at it for my first time.

I wanted a simple, two-tube bumper and this is what I came up with. Bleh. Faux winch will maybe lead to a servo winch under the hood. I don't know yet. Brazing is hard - I fully respect the people who do it well.

Bobbed bed is done, and separate from the cab like it should be. Hard mounted to chassis for strength.

          They're Gmade's. MT1901.

I decided that my homemade bumper looked stupid on the front. Seems to have always been meant for the rear.

          Factory seconds rear tailgate.

I continued my experiments in brazing tonight and made this roll bar for the back, where dummies would sit and hold the driver's beer while watching things.

                      Thanks folks. Yes, King shocks.

Picked a paint colour. Have some detailing and more painting to do. The End.

I ended up mounting up the RCModelex Arb bumper. Golly, it's a nice front bumper. It's made for bumping.

I spent the afternoon clear coating and applying some pin striping. Dry fit a lot of junk and wired up the electronics. Home stretch!

For all intents and purposes, this is pretty much done. Needs a shakedown run or two, but I'm very happy with the final product. Super-mild build, but sometimes, simple is nice for the sake of just getting it done. A few bits and bobs and it's on the shelf until the end of August.

A box from South Korea showed up today and these wheels seemed to fit the build infinitely better. Plus, the deep offset tucks them right under the fenders. Beautiful.
