You need a three channel radio and a three position switch for the third channel.
You can also use a PunkRC Programmable Computer as an alternative. I will be using this computer on my build under "Killer Krawler Build - Limited Edition" rather than a electro-mechanical Dig Unit.

        Add a PunkRC Programmable Computer

They really expand the possibilities if you are using two ESC's and Servos.

          Its a good alternative choice.

If your using 2 servo's and 2 esc, you may be better off using a 6 channel radio. It would work even better.

I'm curious, what would be the benefit of using the 6 channel radio if I was using dual esc's and servos ?

There are several things you can do with a 6 channel radio. Mix the channels, and have switches for rear steer lockout, and dig.

With Dig...It could be pretty short

Not really sure. Never measured it. I will see what I can do.

Video of the KK with the Mayhem Dual motor ESC and the new Rock Crawler Radio system from RC4WD.

RC4WD Product releases. Mayhem Dual Motor ESC, Rock Crawler 3 channel Radio Sysytem. All run on the 1/5 Killer Krawler

The Mayhem doesn't really have enough brute force for the KK, but it will work till you can get something better.

Actually. The radio has a third channel that switches between modes.

Mode 1 Rear steer locked out
Mode 2 Front and rear steer
                        Mode 3 Crab walk
Mode 4 Rear steer with front locked out.

So the regular steering wheel on the radio that operates the front steering also operates the rear wheels with the flip of the third channel switch.

AHA! Found it on the site and the video explained it ALL!

                          Looks great!
But can you also skip a mode? I mean go directly from 1 to 3 for example? Or do you have to toggle thrue all modes?
And how fast does it engage? I mean , can you switch while driving or do you have to make a complete stop?
If you're in full control... you're not going fast enough!

You can toggle right thru without stopping.
