Big Offroader 2.4 GHZ Instructions
These instructions cover the Big Offroader Radio. There may be some changes along the way, but this should give you a good start.
Step 1. Start up Screen
This shows your Battery voltage in the Radio.
This also shows what model is selected.
1. Is the model name. This is changeable and will be shown in another step.
2. Is the model number. You can easily toggle to a different model number by using the +/- buttons.

Step 2. Servo Reversing
In this step you can reverse you servo. This is a very convenient feature when setting up a new model. The purpose of the servo reversing function is to change the direction of the servo's rotation to the wheel/trigger movement. The reversing feature is available for the steering, throttle,and third channel.
You can access this screen by turning on the remote, then using the (sel) button.
As you can see in the photo above. The steering (ST) servo is shown off. If you want that servo to be reversed, push the +/- button.
If you want to access the throttle (TH) or third channel (3C) press the CH button.

Step 3. End Point Adjustments
The end point adjustment feature allows maximum travel for the three channels/servo's. You can increase or decrease the amount of travel the servo has.
In order to access this section, turn on the radio and press the (Sel) button two times.
The adjustment goes from 0% to 120%. Factory setting should be set at 120%.
1. You can easily see the 120% here in the screen. This is the percentage of travel the servo has. 120% being the most travel, 0% being no travel.
2. In the steering and throttle positions you will see the arrow with the letters (L.F.U) or (R.B.U). This just shows which way you are adjusting the servo.
(L.F.U.) Stands for steering left, or Throttle. (R.B.U) stands for Steering right, or brake. You can turn the steering wheel to see this change from left to right when the (EPA-ST) is shown, or the Throttle trigger when (EPA-TH) is shown.
Use the +/- to adjust the % number up or down.
3. At the bottom of the screen shows the EPA position. Steering or Throttle. EPA means End Point Adjustment. There is a - then either ST or TH. ST stands for Steering, and TH stands for throttle.

This screen can be accessed by turning on the radio and pushing the (SEL) button 3 times.
Use the (CH) to select between ST or TH.
Use the +/- to tirn this feature on or off.

Step 5. Exponential
This feature allows you to alter the response rate of the steering or throttle control around neutral without affecting the maximum amount of steering or throttle available. The adjustment goes from -100% to +100%. The factory setting is 0%.
Exponential is usually used to settle down a car that is twitchy around center without giving up max steering response.
You can access the EXP by turning on the radio and pushing the (SEL) button 4 times.
The screen should show like above. The + is for positive. Once you start adjusting the % you will see this turn to -.
You can select between (ST) steering, (FW) forward, or (BK) brake by pushing the (CH) button.
The + and - allows the adjustment of the percentage at the top of the screen.

Here you can change the name of your model. You can enter in three numbers or letter in any order you would like.
You can access this screen by turning on the radio and pressing the (SEL) button 5 times.
When at this screen the letter or number selected will flash. You can adjust that by pushing the +/- buttons. The numbers are first, then the letters.
In order to toggle to the next position, press the (CH) button.

Step 6. Saving settings
1. Make the proper setting you want. Reverse or standard / on or off
2. Take the screen back to the main page.
3. Hold the Select and Channel buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. Top two buttons
This should have saved your setting.

Step 7. Dual Rate Steering and Throttle
The dual rate is located at the Grip Level. Where your thumb normally rests.
This feature allows the dual rate to be increased or decreased within a range from 100% to 0% of the total EPA established in the Steering or Throttle function.
Steering
Throttle
This can be easily adjusted with these buttons. Just push it one way or another to adjust the setting. The top button is Steering and the bottom is Throttle.

Switches
I just received this radio in the mail. There are 2 switches that I have not seen in the instructions. There is one just below the on light with an arrow on it. Is this supposed to move? and what does it do. Also the switch below the steering wheel that moves back and forth, what does it do?

This is a switch that moves the throttle trigger back and forth. Not sure the exact words for it. It doesn't move it a lot.

In trying to set up my radio, I have come to the conclusion that "Expo" is a sham on this radio. Dialling in negative expo simply reduces overall throw, so the "expo" is acting just as a variable rate .
I guess it was too good to be true to expect functional expo on a radio this cheap. Also, has anyone noticed any actual activity connected to the "ABS" function? The theory is nice, as a "fluttering" of the brake servo could well provide some of the functionality of full-blown ABS using wheel speed sensore as used in the 1:1 field.

So why was it shipped as part of a KK kit?
I'm fed up with RC4WD - wrong wheels, wrong colour, wrong servos (twice), wrong radio and far too many missing parts.

My KK is going back for a refund. I'm completely fed up with it - it was a total waste of money, and even with my money back from RC4WD I'm still out for the batteries, charger, bodyshell and all the other small bits & bobs (new servo cables, extra socket head bolts, washers and nuts, grease, threadlock and more) I had to buy to try to complete it.
