  • Leaf Spring Wedge : Problem

    Hi,
Just got my set of Leaf Spring Wedge.
Tried to mount it in combination with 3D Link.
    It doesn't work !
Wenn you try it with a Leaf Spring it works perfect. But due to the thick upper part of the 3D Link the angle of the screw makes it immpossible to screw them in the axle......
    Look at the pictures.
Maybe somebody has any suggestions ?
    thx
    Mike

Just from looking at the pix, my question is:
Have you tried it with the wedge the other way?

They are leaf spring wedges. You have a 4 link already. If you want to adjust your pinion angle just make the upper links a little longer.

        Leaf Spring Wedge

        Hello,
        Thank you for the suggestion.
Yes I did place the LSW in every possible way.
Since they are different in size (two are 3 mm other two are about 5 mm) I used both of them to see if it works.
It doesn't work. I even made the hole's bigger with a dremel to have more space.... Impossible.
So, I have been busy for a couple of hours with changing the length of the upper arms. This works ! I did have to some small spacers to make certain that the axle is moving smoothly. But it's OK now.
        Grts

why would you want to use leaf spring wedges on a vehicle with no leaf springs?
